In the Rogue Valley we are subject to many influences of weather and geophysical conditions in addition to emerging infectious disease.

Periodically hazard assessments are made by the state and counties. As an example, see the table at right developed as part of Natural Hazard Mitigation Plans of Jackson County and the State of Oregon. 

Drought

The water supply forecast for the summer of 2023 is above average for almost all Oregon watersheds. Spring
precipitation resulted in major increases in streamflow and reservoir storage statewide, especially for central and eastern Oregon, areas previously impacted by multi-year drought. See the details >
